In 1990, The Lord Jesus Christ commissioned Pastor Felix R. Jones to evangelize in the City of Camarillo and the surrounding communities, preaching the Word of the Lord as written in the Bible.
In 1996, Pastor Felix R. Jones was called to pastor in Fontana, California. He requested Pastor Terrell Penny, Sr. and Pastor Larry Franklin continue the ministry at True Way Baptist Church, Camarillo, California. Pastor Terrell Penny, Sr., accepted the call and was installed as Senior Pastor of True Way Baptist Church in Camarillo.
True Way Baptist Church was first located in a recreation building on Carmen Drive, Camarillo, California and soon moved to 295 Daily Drive, Suite 5, Camarillo, California. By faith and much prayer, the congregation asked God for a permanent location.
In 2018, the Lord provided a beautiful leased location. There the congregation had plenty of room for a Sanctuary, classrooms, offices, kitchen, and recreational space for the young members of the Church.
In 2020, True Way Baptist Church was no longer allowed to gather in person due to COVID 19 guidelines. During this time the Lord opened a new way to reach a dying world. True Way Baptist Church started a ZOOM Ministry for all services, including Sunday School, Sunday Worship Service, Wednesday Night Prayer, and Bible Study. True Way Baptist Church is now reaching the whole world via ZOOM! bringing alive The Great Commission in Matthew 28:16-20.
